The official stated that for “an extended period”, the US had “overstretched the concept of domestic safety, abused foreign shipment regulations and “implemented” discriminatory practices against China.
“Using” trade levy ultimatums is not the proper method to interact with China,” their representative said.
“Beijing’s stance” on a import duty dispute has consistently been consistent: we are not seeking one, but we are unafraid of one.”
The previous week, Beijing declared it was strengthening foreign shipment restrictions on rare earths and other materials vital for cutting-edge industry.
This was seen as a key move, as the nation refines about the vast majority of the world’s rare earths, which are employed in items such as solar panels and smartphones.
